Our Course Details
Overview
- OAFM Approved Practicum Course
- On-line classes are scheduled after regular business hours over 10 weeks
- Mentors have extensive family mediation experience and are Accredited Family Mediators (AccFM) in good standing with OAFM
- Experiential learning through review of concepts, discussion and role-play time
- Small groups: Low student to Mentor ratio (typically 4 students per Mentor)
- Complete a minimum of 3 role-play cases and report drafting
- Successful graduates may apply for the final 20 hours and 2 live mediation cases towards OAFM accreditation
- Supportive learning environment through peer support and mentorship to build your confidence in working directly with clients.
Scope
This is a Master Class in Parent Mediation where we will go in-depth into a range challenging parenting dynamics and scenarios that will bolster your mediation skills and help you to be more confident working with clients.
There will also be a refresher on the basics of child / spousal support and property equalization, but the focus will be on techniques to mediate parenting issues.
Our goal is to prepare you to hit the ground running in your mediation practice as soon as you are an Accredited Family Mediator.
